Water Pump?

Ok its time for another classic coolant loss problem. i had a new radiator installed because my mechanic was thinking that my coolant was leaking from there, turns out its not. i keep getting the low coolant light on and off when im driving, it started about a week and a half ago. i know the coolant sensor is good too because that was also replaced. the car is not overheating, but i was thinking now if it may be leaking from the water pump somewhere. the hoses look fine, i dont ever see any drips around them. i'd say after i fill up the radiator and recovery tank, it will take about a month maybe a little less to start getting low again. any input would help. my ripoff mechanic said he pressure tested it too but obviously its still escaping from somewhere (most likely wont be taking it there anymore)

Re: Water Pump?

Well Mike561 you need to carefully check for any external coolant leaks. Look from underneath engine with sufficient lighting. Look under the water pump, area of the cylinder heads, the block, lower intake manifold, 90 degree elbow, heater core hoses and thermostat housing. Double check the radiator and both the lower and upper radiator hoses. Look for visible signs like puddles where you park.

If no external leaks are visible then it may be consuming coolant internally. GTPs are not immune from lower intake manifold gasket problems. Also, there are two o-ring seals where the supercharger mounts to the LIM that can get flaky causing coolant loss.
