Alloy Rims - 15??? WHAT???

Anyone with the Lumina Euro (90-94) 15" alloy rims out there? I was under the ASSumption that the only alluminum rims that Chevy made for the 1st generation Luminas were 16" rims.

I found this out after I bought a set from a guy for $60 that has a pretty decent set of tires. Then I found out that one of the rims was missing a small chunk on the outer edge (about the size of a wheel weight) --- he had been using the rim to rest a car on instead of a jackstand... really intelligent!

Anyway, one of the tires is low on tread and the one rim is missing a chunk, and the reason I bought them in the first place is because the wife's car has 16" rims and she had an extra set of 16" rubbers I was going to use as on my car. Oh well... now I'm looking at spending the $100 I was trying to avoid spending originally for a set of 16" alloy rims from a salvage yard. Of course it'll be extra to get the tires balenced after I get them put on, but what can you do??

Oh yeah... I've got a '90 Lumina that originally had a 2.5 that we dumped a 3.1 into from a '91 Euro. The car has been totally converted to a Euro now... well with stupid 15" rims!!!!

Alloy wheels are worth about $5 each for metal salvage....

If you got a line on a set of 16" alloy wheels for $100, I wouldn't hesitate, that's unheard of....

Re: Alloy Rims - 15??? WHAT???

Alright...

The 16" rims are now on my car... the dude at the junkyard gave me $40 trade-in on the 15" alloys. The 16's look pretty cool on the old gal.

Anyway, I'm 10 lug nut caps short. Where the heck can I find some of these suckers? I've e-bay'd until I'm blue in the face. For now, I've got the lug nut covers on the driver's side wheels and none on the passenger side wheels. Good 'nuff for now.

I still can't believe that Chevy made 15" alloy rims for the Luminas... haven't found one other person who had 'em.

By the way, anyone out there looking for alloys, they are pricey! I got mine for $100 for the set (before trade-in) and they've been much more expensive than that. Although I've seen a set of 4 for $100 on e-bay if anyone is interested in "Euro'ing" their base model Lumina (of course you need to add spoiler, red body mouldings, stiffer suspension, gauge cluster, and Euro badges on the doors, trunk, and dashboard, etc....)
