shock

Hello

I am about to put a 3' lift kit on my xj and i wanted to know how long does a shock have to be to work on the rig after? Also i was reading some good things about Monroe Matic on another site. What do you guys think about them?

Cool Re: shock

Some kits will provide a shock. There is a lot of possiblities, do some searching on the web....some people use YJ shocks or some use Bar Pin Eliminators.

The sure way to do it is to measure the suspension when you are doing the lift and flexing the axles with jacks and jackstands. You also need to consider longer bump stops. Also longer brake lines in some cases.

Or you can just take your old shock down to the parts store and ask for a longer one.

Lifting more than 2" will require a little more forethought and research.

Tip: there are a lot of websites that cover this subject....do a little searching. Here is one, this guy wrote a book about lifting:

EDIt- I did a search for you for: 3 inch lift jeep shock
and got this..among others:
