Invisible Buick Century rear passenger window handles?

A 91-year-old former narcotics agent over in Tupelo just gave me a great deal on a beige 1986 Buick Century station wagon. I'm crazy about it, right down to the original hub caps. Only problem is thus: Ringo, my big Mexican Akita, needs to hang his head out either of the back passenger seat windows. The problem: there are no handles to lower the window glass with, unlike in the front driver/partner compartment. I'm not handless, I'm handleless. The handles do not appear to be missing; there is no obvious place a handle would be attached. It appears to be designed as a child-safety and dog-frustration feature. Reckon the machinery is in there and I just need to cut a hole a slap a handle on it or get my buddy Jamo to rustle up the parts I need and do his magic?
thanks
