2000 Silverado heater core problem

One of the tips to my heater core pipes that extend outwards from my firewall broke off (where i connect my hose). I went to my local auto parts store and was that told I would have to buy a new HEATER CORE. Does any one have any suggestions that don't involve by-passing?

Re: 2000 Silverado heater core problem

buying it is the easy part. putting it in is another thing. it's pretty involved.
my suggestion is be sitting down when you ask for an installed price.
if you decide to do it yourself i would get an alldata subsciption $25
