how to change a head unit

How do i change the headunit of my 97 saturn sl? i really just need to know how to get the stock headunit out because i couldnt figure it out... i dont think i have to take off the whole dash. thanks a lot for ur help

u dont have to take the whole dash off , it's fairly simple, there should be 2 plastic push screws on each side of the cover around the radio , it houses the rear defog switch. After removing those, it is prob held in by some clips, just pull on them gentley and they should pop out.When u get it loose you will have to remove the elctrical connection to the rear defog switch. After that you should be able to remove the unit by removing a coulple 7mm screws

oh i cleaned that up. you don;t need to discount the harnesses

now i would recommend a waring harness it took me like 2 mins to change out my HU including taking the center console apart.
