seatbelt problems

I have a 92 Saturn and the typical seatbelt problems have developed. I have a battery drain because of the automatic seatbelts. I would like to pull the fuse but the problem is on the passenger side the belt is stuck halfway. I have jumpered the motor and forced the connection point to all the way back, but it still doesn't seem to be "locked", it returns towards forward of the car if you manually pull on it. Is there a way to safely lock it in all the way back to disable the fuse and forget about the automatic function?

Thanks,

Randy

Re: seatbelt problems

lol, i was not a tech person so what i did with my problem was to call a local mechanic for simple assistance..and because the lower end of saturn center shoulder seatbelt is usually fastened to the safety belt buckle, the seatbelt is positioned on the side of the passenger's hip..this differs from the central location of the buckle. disabling the automatic function should be done by your mechanic friend so that some parts will not be harmed.

Re: seatbelt problems

You can convert to full manual seat belts by getting them from a 95 Saturn totally eliminating the automatic function.
