Track tuned Civic EG6

Hi to all:

This project started as a riced eg6, but it took a different heading and now it's more a track day car (or some thing similar)!

Here are some pictures:

Hope you like it!

Cheers

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

Yes, I certainly like it.
What a great shine on that body. Any hints on how you achieved that shine ?

The rims look superb too. Are those chrome rims the same as the ones in the mock-up picture ? If so, what paint did you use on the rims ?

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

The rims are the same! They are Fujimi's Advan RG painted with alclad II Chrome and fited with slick tyres!

The body was painted with tamiya Metalic Blue laquer and revell Gloss Black airbrush enamel.

I cleared it with Tamiya TS-13 and did some polishing and waxing (nothing more)!

A word of caution: I'll never use TS-13 over enamel paints again! It reacted with the Gloss Black and I had to sand and repolish it (fortunatly it doen't show to much)!

Cheers

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

I love the interior build and execution is flawless!

It would be cool to see some skinnys in the rear, if you're going for the 1/4mile look!

Because my city is innundated with rice rockets, I am usually not into these cars. But, this is looking really nice. Your interior is immaculate, great job on it!!!

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

Looking really nice! The paint is great, and I love your detail between the seats. The shifter and ebrake set up are awesome. I have to steal that thought for my next EG or EK. It makes me wonder why you didn't add any fuel fitting details to the top of the fuel tank access that's under the rear seats. And the two pipe exhaust would be more restrictive than a single pipe, even though I like the look of the rear bumper. Great work so far! I can't wait to see it move on.

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

Hi:

Thanks for all your comments.

willimo, you certainly have a point regarding the twin exhaust arrangement and the fuel line! Regarding the exhaust, I'm going to keep it in this way (I think it looks good !). With the roll cage already fitted its hard to had the fuel line, but I going to see if I can manage it!

accord2k2, the extension on the rear spoiler was very simple to do! Its just a piece of 0.4 mm plastic card cut to shape and glued to the original spoiler. The get the right shape, I placed a paper sheet on the roof and around the sides. with a pen I draw the original spoiler contour and that gave me the shape I had to do in order to fit properly. With a bit of putty it was smoothed out.

cheers

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

Here are some more pictures.

The staining on the exhaust is a bit exaggerated, but I'll try to tone it down a bit.

It's going to be finished very soon (at least I hope so)!

Cheers

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

The whole thing looks fabulous!! The attention to detail is what makes this not just "another Civic" build! I'm going to study this thread because I feel that there are several things in this build that I can possibly use on a few of my upcoming builds. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Track tuned Civic EG6

Great work, and thank you for not going the riced route!

Where'd the decals come for the interior, in particular the nitrous bottle?
