90 Buick Century Vs 98 Chevy k1500

On my way home from work one evening and i stoped at a light on some side streets in town, there was a riced up 98? chevy k1500, neons, paint, rims, sound system, i would guess probly close to stock, 5 litre i think, vs my 90 buick century, 3.3 Litre V6, only mod is a high flow muffler and sound system, at light i just go, thinkin he might not and didnt care, but he goes, keeps up for a lil while, falls back, then starts pullin up around 80, we both let off because there is a fairly sharp cuve and some construction coming up, the thing is, wouldnt a 5 litre be able beat my V6? im just curious

Re: 90 Buick Century Vs 98 Chevy k1500

You sure it was a K1500? Because a K-series is 4x4... a C1500 is 2 wheel-drive. Should of had a 4x4 sticker or Z71 decal on the bed if it was infact a K-series.

Anywho... depending on the size of the rims, how much sound equiptment it had stuffed into it... speakers get heavy, and trim of the truck (single cab, extended cab, short bed, long bed) and if it had a 5.0L or a 5.7L. They're heavy trucks, not to mention it probably has some miles on it. Most trucks of that age around here are pushing well over 100,000 miles.

It's easy to concieve that it lost.

Dude its a truck why would you street race a truck with a Buick? Actually why would you try an race anything with a Buick(unless it was a gs or gnx)? Pickups arent designed to race so you can pretty much beat them with anything. Not to mention if they got those big idiotic rims on it the truck was probably crying inside lol.

what does a 300z have to do with this race? and besides the N/A 300zx's are slow cause they are very, very heavy.

I hate this shit...back in high school I raced everybody with everything...it wasn't for money, or the fame, or the babes, it was just plain honest fun...plus, when I would beat some of the richie rich kids in my "old" camaro it was sweet justice....when they had brand new Audis and BMWs I would show them whats up. LT1>Rich Kids....

i hate to be the only one thinking this, but everytime you post, its ususally something negative. why race with a buick or something?

we all might race for the rush. and its fun. hell i race cars way faster than mine just to have fun with it. it wastes time and you talk about it after ususally. i want to see pics of your car for once, so we can all talk about it. come with respect around here mr. i dont have 100 posts quite yet.

There is nothing wrong with racing a Buick. Also there are some somewhat fast Buicks besides the gs and gnx like the ones with the blown 3800 or the new Northstar ones. Plus racing in a Buick lets u race in comfort

Yeah, but they're still not that impressive. They have big traction issues in stock form, and since they're trucks they don't have the greatest top ends due to lack of aerodynamics.

Man, It seems that everytime I leave the site for awhile and make a return, some idiot is talking about how slow trucks are and not made to race.Freakin Newbies kill me! I race a truck, and last time I checked, an 11 sec daily driver isn't that slow, especially for a truck.........
Oh, yeah, fwiw......stock srt10s and Lightnings=not fast
