Angry 03 Cavalier Audio System Help!!!

One day, i was driving down the freeway listening to a CD and my audio system started making crazy and weird noises. It was very irritating noises from the speaker. So i took the CD out, it was still making noises, i turned the power off on the radio and it still made the noises. Then, i turned the engine off, It started to make this low pitch horrible noise. I took the keys out of the starter and opened the door and it still made the noise for another 30 seconds till it finally stopped. I know its not the speakers because the radio plays just fine. But, very rarely it will do the crazy noises. I have the cavalier stock CD player. I will might post a video of it on here in a few days. I hope someone can help me plz.

Re: 03 Cavalier Audio System Help!!!

Sounds almost like you have a short somewhere. Wierd noises and then a low-pitched noise after vehicle is off would seem to me to point to a short. Now is the low-pitched noise coming from the speakers or the radio? If it's from the speakers after vehicle is shut off, then you have short somewhere on the speaker line or a ground-out where something is completing a circuit, so to say, causing the speakers to go off after power is cut from them by the radio. If all this is coming from the radio, it's either a short or a bad unit.

No, It comes from the speakers. I talked to someone else about it, and they said the ground wire must be loose or something. Maybe, driving across rough surfaces such as railroad tracks or something like that caused the wires to mess up.
