96 T/C crank no start

This morning I go out and try to start my 96 T/C 3.8 and the engine cranks but won't start. I've had the Alternator and Battery checked and they are fine. I was able to get the engine started but I had to press on the gas pedal and keep it there to keep it going. After a while the car would finally idle and is running. I do notice that the lights (interior and exterior) flicker a little.

Any help would be great thanks.

Binding throttle plate - try cleaning the throttle body with a spray cleaner
Bad IAC valve - try cleaning it first
Weak fuel pump - connect a pressure gauge to the fuel rail

Getting a Service Engine light on the dash? Smell fuel as your cranking? Hear the pump?

Re: 96 T/C crank no start

The pump kicks in when you turn the key. There is no service engine light. The car is running great now. We had an awful lot of rainy days in a row and was wondering if the wet weather could have been the cause?

I'll clean the throttle body and see if it comes back.

Thanks.
