Won't run after multifunction switch replacement

I have a 2000 Jimmy. I replaced the multi-function switch and now the thing will start and run for less than 5 seconds, then shut-off again. What gives?

What happens to the "Security" lamp when the ignition is turned on? How about while the engine is running?

The Secrity Light does come on and stays on for a while both while the runs for that short time and after it shuts off.
