I have a 95 accord ex with the after market kit and an Alpine 7892 installed.
I ordered from crutchfield.com and said the Blaupunkt Monterrey MP35 will fit and pics of its wiring are here: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures.php?id=4956 Thanks for any info. |

Re: Will I need a wiring harness or adapter for this MP3 Receiver?
If you already have an aftermarket receiver installed and want to install a different aftermarket receiver, you should already have what you need. Just remove the Alpine and you should see that you have an aftermarket harness hooked into it. Just cut the wires that lead from the harness to the Alpine and use that. Follow the instructions that should be supplied in your new Unit. You will need to splice the wires from the old aftermarket harness to the harness that is supplied in your new Unit. The rest of the wires shown in the pictures you attached are for your aftermarket amplifier.
Good luck.

Re: Will I need a wiring harness or adapter for this MP3 Receiver?
Ok thanks. Hopefully I can just unclip the connector from the alpine and connect it the the new unit.
If not, I just match the colors right? Unless the colors on the harness are not the same standard -then Ide use this manual with the reference numbers. Nice accord btw. |

Re: Will I need a wiring harness or adapter for this MP3 Receiver?
The connector from the alpine will not work on your new head unit. Your new head unit should have it's own partial harness.
Just cut the connector part from the alpine and match the wires to your new head unit's partial harness. I've installed a double din monitor/dvd in my car and all I had to do was match the color of the wires. It may be a little tricky because the colors may not match exactly but as long as they're the same shade, it should work. Thank for your comment on my car btw.

Re: Will I need a wiring harness or adapter for this MP3 Receiver?
Well I went out and bought a harness anyways because it looked like it would be a pain in the ass to take all the tape off the previous guy put and cut the wires.
All the colors matched and I read the wires from the harness and matched it with the speaker/connection initials that came on the new HU's connector just to be sure. The reception is crystal clear now! Great HU for 70 bux. |

Re: Will I need a wiring harness or adapter for this MP3 Receiver?
did you crimp the wires properly or just tape them like the previous owner?? might as well do it right and crimp em so you dont have to worry about it later. harnesses are so marked up. i loved when i worked at bestbuy all the ppl bought them for 17 bucks..now theyre up to 20 there..i used to do all the installs for my friends cuz with employee discount it was like 2.50 a harness haha
