Are you asking if there are mechanical problems or are you making a statment that people shouldn't take issue with how others spruce up their car?

well i dont think you'll find much support for anti-honda enthusiasts, but since everyone in this forum drives one (or 95% of us), we can give you reasons why hondas are good. heres my idea on the whole "rice" thing...

1) RICE means unproductive or just plain stupid mods done to a car which benefit it in no way or look absolutely ridiculous. (e.g. washer lights and supra spoilers). it doesnt mean that you drive an import.

2) over 75% of hooked up hondas are RICE. sad but true, almost all of the "hooked up" imports around here are just plain ugly and typical. altezzas, washer lights, chrome rims, NOT lowered, unpainted body kits, etc. oh wait, and the worst part = ABSOLUTELY NO ENGINE MODS. but i cant hate someone who just wants a nice looking car, however i prefer the engine aspect. ironically my engine is stock but thats because my father still owns my car and im not allowed to. gonna sneak an intake tho ;]

3) I dont understand domestic owners who specifically hate on imports. I believe they are ignorant and don't appreciate cars. I love cars. ALL cars. Domestic or Import, it doesnt matter. It's funny when a 11sec HB beats their 5.0 mustang tho ;]

4) no matter what anyone tells you, do what you want. there's always gonna be someone who doesnt like you car. its your car, you pay for the mods. dont let other people make decisions for you.

there's my 2cents + a lil extra ;x

I picked my Honda because my family has always had excellent experiences with Honda. My dad's 89 Accord had 212,000 miles on it and still ran when we traded it in for a 93 Accord. That still runs perfect at 170k and thats what I'm driving (I bought it from them). They bought a 97 Accord and none of the three have ever given us a problem. You can't argue with their reliability and great gas mileage. Thats why I bought mine. Modding it is just a bonus. I'd rather have a slow reliable car, than a fast car that I'm always fixing. But again, thats just my opinion.

Whenever I hear shit about Hondas I ignore it. Obveously the person talking all that trash is too closed minded and ignorant to know anything of importance. (I'm talking about the rice stereotype that people have against Honda and Honda drivers)

Cool

All the best reasons were stated before this, so I dont have that much to add, but.....
Just to think that everyday I can get home after a stressing day at work with a big smile, thats everything . It's called VTEC addicted :silly2: and I can't get enought of it.

For the anti-Honda ppl, I just say this. Get a friend that ownes one, tell him to drive you slowly for 4 or 5 miles, then, tell him to show you WTF VTEC is and how fast the dam thing can go for 4 or 5 miles.

If you get out of the car sweating your hand's and shaking your legs, you-ve just experienced VTEC
If not, ask him to testdrive the car and feel it.
By the end of this experience if you dont feel any emotions at all..... you are in the wrong planet . Call Nasa and aply for a space flight.

Regards,

AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!

The VTEC isn't a fucking shot of nitrous. For christ sakes! I have a Honda with it and its nice to have but it doesnt turn the car into a rocket ship. Dammit. Thats why people get tired of hearing about Hondas. They are the most reliable car I've ever heard of but people keep making them out to have this wonderful all powerful VTEC god in there. Its nice engineering to help broaden the power band, but get over it!

There's nothing wrong with Hondas... it's the stupid things some people will do to them.

Like 93speed, I drive a Honda because my family has had nothing but a good experience with them. Even now we all drive honda vehicles; I have my Civic, my dad drives and Accord, and my mom has an Odyssey.

They're good reliable vehicles that haven't let us down yet. ^_^

I drive my Honda because, it’s reliable, its fast enough, its got great gas mileage, its nice looking and because it’s got great aftermarket support.

As for rice...

Rice is a state of mind.
Its so simpleminded people can put someone else down to make him or her feel better about themselves and the decisions they have made. (i.e. Ego boost)
Just another form of self imposed segregation and prejudice.

That’s not to say I don’t see cars that I think are in bad taste. But I don’t put them down or call them names because there sense of taste is different then my own.

If you ego is biased on what people think of your car, someone laughing or being in awe has the effect as if they were doing the same to you.
So if you come at it as if your car is an Inanimate object that may reflect your personality but is not your personality. You’re more liable to keep an open mind.

That’s my opinion on the matter.

Whats wrong with Hondas? hmm, let's see:

1) They're reliable AS HELL!! I have 140,000 miles on my 92 Civic and it still has NO problems, No noises, and runs strong (for a CX). My friend bought his Prelude, which was also his very first car, 13 years ago and still drives it daily.

2) They look great. The Accord, Civic, CRV, etc all have great shapes. They look stylish, stock or tricked out as racers or euro lowriders.

3) Excellent gas mileage. My Civic is THE most fuel efficient ride I have ever had. I'm getting about 40+ miles to the gallon in the city. I drive 15 miles to school, 13 miles to work, (another 13 miles back to school for a night class that I have 2 nights a week) and then another 15 miles home 5 days a week and only have to fill up once every 5 or 6 days. And it only takes $10 - $12 to fill up the tank from empty (@ about $1.38 per gallon).

Nothing's wrong with Hondas. I plan to keep this machine even after I graduate. Then I'm going all out to hook it up. I don't hate on nobody's ride unless they hate on mine, and for those that do just cuz it's a Honda: SUCK A D**K!!

no im not saying have a car thats not lowered means its rice. im saying that if you choose the road of show, and you get yourself some "blingin 18" rims" and a "phat ass body kit". plz lower the car. the people around here do everything possible to the car (exterior) but lower it. and i think some people will agree with me that rims and/or kits on a car thats not lowered is just not effective...

thanks customblackcivic

The only thing wrong with hondas some of the people who drive them... ive seen a lot of riced out hondas, kids who think they're fast (ie. ive seen a b15 hatch w/ cut springs rev against a porsche), etc... but this happens to all kinds of cars, not just hondas. Domestic people who hate hondas because we're rice, are overlooking how much domestic corn there is out there. At high school drags i saw a lot of hondas with double decker spoilers, stickers galore... but i think i saw almost as many corned out muscle cars.

I know what you mean. I hate it when they make their car look so badass... but they pop the hood to reveal either solid wire covers 'to make it look cool' and no modification at all or put the giant muffler in there that coud only be plugged with a basket ball to make it sound intimidating. Now I've got nothing against ripping out that little grape-shooter piece of flaming shit they call a stock muffler and putting on a better one, but I much prefer a silencer because I know a lot of people that leave theirs out only have the damn thing so the car sounds kewl. If you want your car to sound cool, at least have the intelligence to add a few ponies while your at it: buy an intake and don't tighten the screws. Shoot dawg, just buy an intake.

But I've got a suggestion:
Take that fart can on the back of your daddys '88 Accord sedan and shove it
