wiring in series

Just want to verify after reading the install Dr. for series wiring, + wire comes off the amp and goes to the first + then run a wire from the - on that speaker to the next + on the next speaker then to the next- and then back to the - on the amp. does this sound right?

will wiring in seriers help ur sound? cause i have my 4 interior speakers bridged and they don't sound loud at all, think wiring them in series will help me out, make my highs and mids louder?

actually, wiring in parrallel will make it louder if you're amp can handle the lower impedance load

Are you saying your 4 speakers are all bridged on the same channel? If so you should run them all on seperate channels if you have a 4 channel amp, or if you only have a 2 channel amp run the left front and left rear on one channel and the right front and right rear on the other channel. You wont have fader control on the second setup, but from the sounds of it your running all four speakers on one channel so you dont have fader or balance with yoru current setup.

i have a 4 channel amp, what ohm level will it be dropped to when i put it to series? if not what do ya suggest i do?

Don't worry about running in series or parallel. Run each of your four speakers on a seperate channel on your amp.

for series wiring you just add the impedances together. but i agree with delsolsi just give each speaker its own channel and adjust the crossover right and by all means it should sound good. also, keep in mind the lower the impedance your running to your speakers the more distortion your going to get.

While the statement itself is true, it's really irrelavant. Halving the impedance load on the amp will probably double the THD figure ........ but since most people can't discern THD below 3%, and golden ears maybe 1% - it beomes pointless, since most modern amps are rated at like .05% THD.
