Tensioner Pully

Hello all. I am a new member and have a ? My tensioner pully has seized and I am going to replace it. I was wondering if anyone had step by step instructions for this procedure. I have found the replacement part at Advanced Auto. Any help is much appreciated. My car is a 98.

Re: Tensioner Pully

If someone doesnt chime in here, I would suggest visiting a forum for another W-body car with the 3.8. Such as the Grand Prix, Impala, or Monte Carlo.

They have more members, and its exactly the same to change for those cars. If you have trouble finding a forum, give me a PM and I can point you in the right direction.

Re: Tensioner Pully

Do you plan on replacing just the tensioner pulley or the complete tensioner assembly which will come with a pulley?

We have plenty of other "W" body forums here at AF that cover GM cars with the Series II 3800 VIN "K" and "1". All you have to do is search.

Our highest volume "W" body forum with the most active members and excellent technical expertise is at Pontiac Grand Prix. Try searching the Pontiac Grand Prix forum Tips and Maintenance section. Click on link below:
