Question Cold start problem

96 crown vic, 4.6L 281 CID engine.
when I use my remote to start engine, the engine crank but dosent start. I have to put my coat on, and crank my self while im pressind the gas pedal, and the engine start.
could somone tell me what could be wrong? is there an adjustement somwhere?

You need a tune up or a new fuel pump. Also, it sounds like your remote start was installed using "voltage sense" which isn't good. It should be tach sensing so it can "see" if the car is running and can adjust the crank time according to what's going on.

Tanks, could you tell me what is a good tune up because i did previously replace spark plug, wires, pcv, fuel filter. so what else to do?

i did look in te mecanics manual and i dint foud any place talk about choke or cold start.....

I had a problem like that once and it turned out to be the coolant sensor for the ecm, it was always reading hot making the engine flood on cold starts. It can also be a bad tps doing this or even a bad IAC.

/\/\/\/\Bingo The car needs to be on a scanner and have the sensors checked. Something can be bad sensor wise but not actually throw a code but can cause hard starts or worse over a period of time.
