Starting Weird?

Alright 98 blazer

After starting warm or cold, idle is at like 400, it will surge once or twice and then smooth out, now sometimes when its really cold it will acutally kill wrather then surge. But after all that it runs good idles at like 900-1000.

Re: Starting Weird?

Remove clean and replace the IAC valve using Throttle body cleaner.

Also spray out the hole it inserts into and clean all accummulated garbadge in it.

Also, ever done a tuneup?

Re: Starting Weird?

Yup, did a tune up about 500 miles ago, runs awesome once it is done choking. The IAC thats the one sitting sidways going into the intake right? Looks like it might be held on by 2 star screws? Im gonna look at this tonight but in the mean time would like to get some more input on the situation!!

Thanks in advanced!

What did your tuneup include, yes, the IAC is a small round sensor with two star screws. Remove, clean it with TB cleaner and a toothbrush and spray out the hole it inserts into. If that hole gets plugged the engine has no way of regulating its idle.
