Hard to start occasionally

I have a 2000 Intrigue GLS. I had the passlock key problem, which I disabled (security light stays on forever). However, I still find it hard to start occasionally, the SES light flashes. I tested the battery and it's good, the alternator was already changed. I'm really starting to hate GM cars for reliability.

Re: Passlock Problem disable

I recently had the same problem and had to replace the ignition cylinder lock (the part the key fits into). Basically the ignition had worn out over time and was enabling the passlock security feature which was causing my vehicle to stall and the regular display panel lights to come on SES, Airbag, etc. Once I replaced the iginition I had no more problems. Good Luck!

Re: Passlock Problem disable

I would agree with the new lock cylinder.
These do seem cheaply made.

Re: Passlock Problem disable

Problem fixed. The dealer changed cylinder lock and passkey system. That hurt the bank account. My next car is definately going to be an import

Re: Passlock Problem disable

Glad you got it fixed

Sorry you had to have the stealership fix it, they suck !

I dont know that imports would be any better. They usually require the dealer for just about everything, and parts are 20-40% more.
