civic turbo kit, how many psi?
ok i bought a turbo kit for my civic 1.7 liter, sohc, how many psi can i safely run without popping an expensive motor, ive heard, 5, heard 7, and have heard i can go as high as 9, anybody no the safe limit for a stock motor? thanks

All in the tuning, but I wouldn't go higher than 8.

Oh i live for questions like this!!
You can't base ANYTHING off of PSI. It varies depending on the turbo. For most D series engines, 230whp seems to be the limit. From now on, when you talk about power, talk in hp and not in psi. Also, if you think D's are expensive, you are sadly mistaken...they are a dime a dozen. The worst part of blowing a D up is that you have to fix it...the cost isn't bad at all. I want to here more about this setup and what it consists of....pics and details ASAP!!

on a typical set up around 8 psi BUT as stated befor not all turbo's are created equal!!!!!!! i larger turbo can make more power at the same PSI of a smaller turbo
