2002 Silverado Z71 Blower Motor Removal
I'm trying to replace my blower motor (it's dead, and I need to replace it before the cold air hits Alabama next week). Here are the directions, according to Chiltons:
1. If equipped, remove the sound insulator panel. 2. Remove the blower motor insulating cover screws. 3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor. 4. Remove the blower motor insulating cover. 5. Pull the retaining tab down while turning the blower motor counterclockwise in order to disengage the blower motor from the heater/ventilation module. 6. Remove the blower motor. The sound insulator panel was easy to remove. After that, I'm stumped. I see no screws to remove the motor insulator. I'm at a complete loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ***EDIT - Nevermind, there was no additional cover. Chalk that one up to Chilton's being screwy. Last edited by bparks6982; 01-13-2007 at 04:25 PM. |

Re: 2002 Silverado Z71 Blower Motor Removal
Before you replace the blower check the resistor pack...the wires plugged into the blower motor come from the pack...it's located sticking into the duct just before the blower motor. It the resisters are burn't then replace the pack.
