Both Tail Lights Out On A 2000 Jetta

Apparantly today both my tail lights went out. I checked the fuses. The brake lights still work, which is the same bulb. Anybody have any ideas?

The n4 recall its for a brake light switch.

Yes it is possible that both bulbs burn out.
