GTO roadrace with a 350Z and a RX-8

Been a while since I had a fun race that was more them me obliterating some kid in a stock car.

This morning at like 5:30 a.m. Im heading to my first job with little traffic on the highway when I hear a ricey exhaust and see two cars zig-zagging through lanes up ahead.
I keep it in gear and floor it and a mile later I was on thier tail. A red RX-8 and a silver 350Z playing cat and mouse. The 350 was ahead the whole time (duh), both seemed modded. The Z had a single large exhaust, C-F hood and rims. the RX had a C-F wing, maybe the mazdaspeed, borla catback (borla sticker!!!) and red tints...yes red.

I wait for them to finish thier race and decide which among them is faster before interfearing. once the Z backed off and lined up again with the RX I got right next to them and honked. they looked over and smiled. the RX driver was a young guy, looked middle-eastern, the Z was a 20 something year old blonde girl, very HOT!

the RX honked three times and we all took off. the RX was a gonner by the top of 3rd (we took of in 2nd) the Z kept up till I hit 4th then shejust fell back two cars.
It would of been over but the highway I was on turns a sharp left then right then a loop and juctions onto a road. I had to break hard to make the turn and the Z caught me up. his nose ws right next to my door through the turn. The RX right behind her.
on the next turn I pulled a bit and the RX shot out from behind the z and got next to me. It was then a straight away and a loop at the end. I pulled away on the straight but I knew he would pass me on the loop so I hit the traction control switch back on and fainted a turn out then back in hard. I kicked the tail out and power slid hard for about 30 feet taking up both lanes and kicking up smoke. the RX had no space to pass and hit the brakes hard. it was exactly what I needed. Im not a D1 champ and no way I could slide the whole loop BUT I did get the RX and the Z to slow down so I straighten back up and gunned it out and on to the road. at the next light the Z girl was laughing ad the RX dude got out of his car and shook my hand. It was fucking awsome.

Re: GTO roadrace with a 350Z and a RX-8

tokyo drift? nah man in all seriousness Ive been a fan of drifting since 97 when i first saw Initial D.
no joke or nothing I used to go out in my Talon and try doing FWD power-slides. Some where good but mostly just ass dragged it.
When I got the Starion in 03 I started practicing alot till my wife blew the engine on it drag racing a turboed Prelude....she won despite the trashed block.

So now with the Goat I go out late at night to do a milk run or just comming back from work and just powerslide a few wide corners. Nothing risky you know, if I loose it I have room to recover.
Ask Gotian's fiance or Bushido. One day after about a week of having broke in the motor on the GTO I had them both in the car with me and a 3rd gen Eclipse kept messing with me. Bushido was all like "yo man dont you know what this is" and Nami was like "smoke that punk YAHAHAAHA" (shes always laughing) so I took this wide ass corner and powerslid like a mad man all across the intersection for more then 50 feet. It was so freaking awsome that the guy in the eclipse froze solid and didnt move past the intersection despite a green light.

Gotian has been practicing kicking out the tail too. I think he might just surprise all of us soon with some sick slide vids.
its much harder to drift a RX-8, the GTO is cakewalk compared to his rail-rider.

Im Rhys Millen and Gotian is Rob Millen, Booyaah.

It's called torque. The GTO has tons, the RX8 is lacking.. (no offense Kris)

actually, its not the torque, musashi didnt elaborate on it, I can kick the tail out TOO Easily and its very hard to get it back in line, thats the problem with the 8, every corner I take, if i want the tail to come out it will, if i want it to go back in line I have to work for it (damn gohan, just like in the show, cant control his power yet, needs training.)

Damn Musashi you either got balls the size of watermelons or your just crazy as hell. How fast were you going when you threw the tail out? A little reckless but still mad props. The guy in the RX must have been like wtf

Re: GTO roadrace with a 350Z and a RX-8

Nah, its easy once you figure out how to get her back in line. The traction control was on too so it makes it even easier, trust me you just faint it out and counter, let the tail come back around and keep the throttle in check so you dont over compensate.

running from the cops and actually getting away from them....thats the stuff I'll be telling my grandkids about!

oh and there was some green areas off to the sides where I did that. Had I lost it I would of farmed out onto the grass with no damage to the car so it was a safely stupid thing to do. had it been walls or barriers I would of taken the loss, no sense risking my car over one victory.
and I was going about 65-70mph when I fainted, I braked so the slide musta been induced at about 50-55.

Dont get me wrong I can get the tail back in line, if the traction is on, if not then I got sideways too much, already happened twice. I'm getting better though, this 2nd time that I lost it wasnt nearly as back as the first time. And also its only doing a power over, right now anyways, that I have the problem. I can go from 3rd heel and toe into 2nd, kick the tail out drift it a bit and get the tail back in line no problem with the traction off, but again if I try to do a power over I lose it.
