Re: I Ran Thru A Huge Puddle And Now My Car Wont Start

Wow, I just did this last week... wasn't as big of a puddle though. What year is your car? I have a 1998 Sebring convertible. The problem with the 98 is that it still has a distributor. We let my car sit the whole day, and it still wouldn't start (though the battery also had started to die). I sat in my dads truck, with the jumper cables attatched and gave it gas while he tried to start my car. It finally worked but it ran like crap. We got it to his friends house and they had a suggestion....

WD-40.

Who would have thought it? we sprayed wd-40 on the distributor and it instantly sounded better.

I am not sure if yours would be the same probably since I do not know if yours has a distributor or if it is at least cranking over for you. If you aren't sure if you have a distributor - on the 98 convt. (2.5 l v6) it is located on the drivers side right below the intake... though you can get to it and see it without taking the intake off. If you have the same sort of problem - try the wd-40... Though I know it has been a few days, so it may be working for you now.
Hope it goes well!
