New to the Impala crew....

I just bought an '05 Impala 4dr (not LS, or SS).
It has almost 36K on it. Seems like a wonderful car.

I still have some factory warranty left on it.

Anyone know of any issues with this particular model?

Thanks,
Shane

Re: New to the Impala crew....

I have an 01 LS 3.4 w/ 81k... I think the 00-05 models are generally the same - even the base models. The LS is just loaded w/ better options.

The one thing that Impala's are NOTORIOUS for is clogged Catalytic Converters... Now I don't know if they made any changes for he later models but I think I remember an addended coverage for the 00-05 Impalas for the Cat Cons. They upped it to like 120,000 or 10 years.

So I would watch out for a clogged Caty. My car also has one other small problem (not a big deal). The airbag light comes on sometimes... But I read on here that it was a quick fix. You will find answers for both of these issues in earlier threads.

Re: New to the Impala crew....

I haven't heard of many people having the cat problem with the 04-05 years.
