code 410

well the other day when the temp went below 32 i got the code again so i pulled off the air pump on my 01 blazer, hooked the air pump to a low amp 12 volt transformer and the motor was fine. dumped some water out of it and found alot of water in the large diaphram, shook that out and sprayed some wd-40 around the blower shaft. changed to the longer inlet hose and that should do it.

( a cheap fix i hope )

Re: code 410

hi there...
here is what happens...
water gets into your smog pump due to the one hose being too short (and it fries the smog pump sometimes, or it just gets frozen from the winter causing it not to work). When you install the new smog pump, if you can't dry out the other one and get it to work, you want to get the extention breather kit, which is an extra few feet of hose. also, check your fuses. they are located between the battery and the fender. there should be a 30 amp and a 10 amp. one might be blown causing your pump not to work in the first place. and if none of that works, see your mechanic. hope that helps.
