1998 Cavalier 2.2 mid throttle hesitation

I have a 1998 Cavalier 2.2 65k.
It is setting no computer codes.
Car has been tuned up but hesitates at about half throttle and then resumes speed.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 1998 Cavalier 2.2 mid throttle hesitation

I had a Corsica with a 2.2 in it that I ran to 200k miles. When it was time for plugs and wires, I had the same symptoms that you're having.

I would check the plugs and wires. If they're a couple years old...replace them. Use the AC-Delco plugs and don't be cheap with the plug wires either. If they were both recently changed...make sure the plugs are gapped correctly.

Could be a bad tank of gas too...fill up with premium on your next fill-up.

This could also be an ignition coil that is on the way out. I had to change one out on my Corsica as well...not too bad of a job.

Hope this helps.
