|
blown fuse when fading to front
ive installed a new HU a JVC KD-G320, unit powers on fine has sound coming from all 4 speakers - but the sound from the back 2 is louder than the front, and upon fading the sound towards the front and adding volume causes a fuse to blow. blown fuse is a 2amp inline fuse. any help figuring out what is causing this would be much appreciated - any more information i can provide please advise - THANKS

Sound like something is shorting since the sound is louder in the rear.

Cant remember who posted it but if you see it give yourself credit Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain

yeah, 2 amp is way too low, should be more like 10-15.

excellent - thanks for the help guys
 fuse was the problem, head unit I replaced was 10 years old and had no problem with the 2A fuse - but new one deffinitely did - replaced it with a 6A inline and so far so good. Rear speakers were louder than the front ones because the front ones had blown the 6.5 cone and sound was only comming out of the tweeters (old factory component speakers mfg- magnadyne). Thanks again for the help.CB
