door panel,window motor
Well it is time for a new driver side window motor on my camaro. How do you get the door panel off to get to the motor? Also can someone help me or give me some kind of diagram on how to change them? Do you just drill out the rivets and pull it out and put new one in?

Re: door panel,window motor
To get the panel off of a 92 you will need to roll the window down all the way. Remove the armrest and the trim panel around the door lock / door handle area. There are white push pin retainers around the edge of the door panel about 6 inches apart. Start at the bottom and work your way up gently pulling the panel off. Be careful dont jerk these out or you will tear the backing board in the door panel and then you wont have any way to re attach the panel. Last at the top of the panel - gently push the Top trim panel / window squeegee toward the window glass to release the 2 tabs holding it in place then lift it up and off.
Drilling the rivets out that hold the motor in place is correct but remember that everything inside the door is spring loaded - be careful, be patient, & take your time and you wont have any problems. |
