Carfax report please.........

Hey guys,

I have a friend who just bought a 92 3000GT VR4 TT. It has about 85k miles. He paid $7500 for it. When I rode in it, I noticed alot of things that were........well ragged out........for a 85K mile car. This makes me think that the previous owner may not have told the whole story.

Please help.

JA3XE74C1NY015210

Thanks in advance.

Re: Carfax report please.........

Carfax is only sometimes good. My buddy was looking at this car, Carfax was good, and when our mechanic got it in the air... sure enough there was full on frame damage. The sketchy part is that it had a clean fax and clean title. Moral of the story get a mechanic check before buying a car, its worth the $100 bmw auto repair mechanic hillsboro oregon

Re: Carfax report please.........

Frame damage is when the car is in an accident and there is damage to the structure of the car. It is usually because they have been in a major accident only. Its never from something small.

Re: Carfax report please.........

Blazer 406 only had one post and this was it. He was here about 2 years before I was around. I highly doubt anyone still here knows him.

The note about Carfax is right. Its not all that accurate. I know for a fact that my car had an insurance claim against it from the previous owner. He told me himself. It was an accident involving a deer that caused the airbags to deploy. This accident did NOT show on the Carfax. I as well had 2 claims on the car in 02, and neither one of those show on the Carfax either. Really, Carfax is a sham.

Ok. I was in and out of this car.. all seams and welds are in tact..no over spray on anything. As if were repainted. Even looked for frame machine marks... as I pull the engine and trans I can further inspect but im exited on the new vr4 project! Anyone have tips while I rebuild. The motor? Do I really need forged pistons or do stock hold up well under light nos?

If you want good power, don't even waste money on nitrous. Save your money for future turbo upgrades and the supporting mods to go along with it.

As for internals stock internals are good for near 500 hp.
