Timing belt '98?
I have a friend who is willing to sell me his '98 Intrepid for $100 it doesn't run but just needs a new timing belt. Does anyone know how hard this would be to fix on this car. I haven't even looked in the engine compartment of it or really worked on anything newer than 1988 aside from oil changes and tranny flushes. Can it be done with basic tools or am I going to run into something that requires more than a wrench and screw driver.
*I acctually think it's a '97 if it makes any difference. I know thats a different model year.

Re: Timing belt '98?
You do need to get the A/C evacuted if there is a charge. The radatior and A/C condersor have to come out intact together. You need to get a special 3 jaw puller to get the crank pulley off, there are no holes in the crank pulley for a harmonic balancer puller.
