hookin up speedometer

anyone know what wire i have to splice in the back of the gauge cluster to hook up an additional speedometer?
(the reason im hooking this one up is because i have the stock one in KM/h and i want one that shows MPH more clearly)

Re: hookin up speedometer

Just go to a bone yard and swap in the cluster that matches your car.... 88-89 or 90-91 and it'll plug right in.

Re: hookin up speedometer

You can get a EDM cluster with both. The one that came in the Civic VTi had a b16 in it so the redline is 8200 and I think the speedometer actually goes higher too. You might can find an SiR cluster too.

I love the UKDM cluster. It goes to 155 MPH and higher redline.

Re: hookin up speedometer

you could just look a little close to the inner part of your tach that will tell you your mph?

Your original speedo is mechanical not electrical. I don't think you can simply splice it and hook it up to another speedo while retaining the original KPH one, if thats what your asking. The best thing to do if you want MPH is to get either a new MPH cluster or unscrew the speedo assembly and replace that with a MPH speedo assembly.
