Post 1966 Mustang project - 289 / 3 speed - $1500

I have a 1966 Ford Mustang with number's matching 289 2bbl / 3-speed manual for sale. I'll give you some details, problems, and positive remarks about this car, and then I'll have said my peace.

The car was factory Burgundy Maroon exterior with a black interior (very rare to have an original black interior, in fact; most you see today were not so from the factory). It is a C code, 289-2V with a 3-speed manual transmission. These are not hooked up but are still in the car. The car was last ran 12 years ago. Motor will turn and the tranny spins freely with your hand. All the glass is good, the interior is all there, 90% of the trim is there, and the drivetrain is present. Hence, a complete car. And yet, it is a complete project.

The car has never been restored, but has been painted once in it's life. The factory paint is still under the trunk lid (to give you an example of what it should look like), as the person didn't think to paint there, I suppose. Now, here are the bad aspects of the car.

As it's never been restored, it has:

- Some rust in the rear quarters, but not totally through.
- A rusted out battery tray, and some of the inner fender well beneath that.
- It's been hit twice and never repaired. Not wrecked, mind you, just hit. The driver's fender needs some body work (can be repaired), as does the front bumper area (looks like they hit a pole).
- The floors are bad. They need to be replaced.
- She is currently missing the hood. I've seen free '66 Mustang hoods here on www.craigslist.org. You get my drift. However, I have the common courtesy to cover up the motor.
- No title. I was provided with a bill of sale at the time I purchased her, and I will do the same for you. The DPS in Carrolton will print you out a title with the right information, and I happen to know the guy who had the title last, and he has no problem assisting someone with getting a new one, just let him have the paperwork. I can get you in contact with him.

That's the worst of it. There you have it. Anything bad you might encounter if you were to come see the car is listed above, so no surprises whatsoever.

My last, and positve, remarks on the car are as follows. I love classics, and I love Mustangs. I think this car has a fine chance, and is not a total rust bucket; it is restorable. You do need to have some experience to do it. Something I forgot to mention above - the trunk is solid as is the gas tank. Last but not least, it is a complete, unmolested project car from 1966 that has near everything original, and I'm offering her up for $1500. That IS my rock bottom price. I gave you the best (and worst) visual image I could with my description, but you really should see the car in person anyway. We can set up a time to come by and check her out anytime.

The car has good rolling tires to make it possible to roll onto a trailer for easy transport. Feel free to email me for pictures. Car is located in Sanger, TX, just north of Denton.

Thanks,
Derek
