Air intake ??

i put an air intake in my car you could hear it suck the air but my car would not pick up like it would with the stock intake. it already has a reprogammed ecu but its just the stock tube with a cone .

I can hear my intake "suck air" way more than it did before. I have had it on there for 4 years now and no problems. Tighten the clamps every few months or with temperature changes and make sure the IAC is in correctly. There's a grease specificly made for sealing the tube. I think grandprixstore.com has it.

you sucking even more hot air in then if you had the stock one on unless you have a heat shield or an enclosed filter system...

some cooler air gets in there from the hole left vacant in the fenderwell.

What kind of cone-filter are you using and what size...if its a 5inch cone from autozone then its not big enough for our engines(esp the S/C's they suck in a lot of air)...you need a bigger cone like a K&N 7" or 9" cone.

I have the K&N air charger and have modified it to fit my taste:

the stock unit:







I removed the huge hole next to the filter with some high temp resistant rubber my brother got from his workplace:






I wrapped the tubing with reflectix, including the MAF to help lower its readings:
