98 Rodeo ?'s
Hi all. I purchased a 1998 Rodeo today and unfortunately it did not come with an owners manual. The main question I have is regarding the U/S light, What the heck is it and what does it mean? I am going to track down a manual but I would like to know if this light is something that I sould be concerned about in the mean time. I look forward to your replies!
Thanks |

Re: 98 Rodeo ?'s
Up Shift.
It is the suggested shift points for your 5 speed manual tranny.

Re: 98 Rodeo ?'s
I've always wondered how they determine the shift points . . . I've had these U/S lights in 2 cars (an '85 Fiero GT and a 95 Passport) and they always seem to have you in 4th gear by the time you hit 20 mph. Seems like a pretty worthless feature . . . and I took the lightbulbs out of both of cars, since it was getting annoying.

Quote:
I would think the ECM uses the MAP sensor signal as a gauge for how much load the engine is under. |
