Grinding noise when turning right

I need some help here, car makes horrible grinding noise when turning right, but only when accelerating. This is on a 1997 Riviera with 140K miles. New brakes, and left wheel bearing, also checked for wheel rub. Is there anything in the tranny or supercharger that can cause this? Or the axle...I checked the boots and everything looks OK. Please help..

Re: Grinding noise when turning right

Left had play and speed sensor was shot, right side seems fine. I'll check it again...but noise seems to come more from the left side, the faster the turn the worse it is...

Re: Grinding noise when turning right

when did this start or did it gradually get louder? still could be a bad bearing or maybe the left side was mis-installed.

Re: Grinding noise when turning right

This started months ago, but has gradually gotten worse (new bearing made no difference, GM part). Weird thing is, you have to give it some gas to get the noise, otherwise nadda. I put a new PCS in over the weekend, and might be a little worse. It could be my paranoia though, that the tranny is going south. Is there anything known to cause this with the 4t65E? New fluid and filter too, BTW...

Re: Grinding noise when turning right

no know problems i am aware of, and except for wheel bearing the only other thing that comes to mine wound be differentials, but i dont see how it would only grind in one direction. PCS!! you mean the pressure control sylanoid in the tranny! did you do it yourself? strut top plates can make popping/grinding noise when they go bad, usually noticable under turns, breaking, and rarely acc...but its more of a klunk sound and usually from both sides. if nobody else posts help then you could try asking this on regalgs.org, its a wealth of knowledge. good luck

Re: Grinding noise when turning right

No holes in the boots, no play in the cv shaft or clicking noise when turning. Since it sounds like its in the engine area...and the supercharger has been making the standard coupler clunking noise...I pulled it off today. The coupler is shot, but the rotors are also scratching the housing I wonder if the housing and rotors are now junk due to the scratches? They run the long way, not on the rotor ends.
I know this may not be related to the grinding when turning...but am going after the known issues first...thanks for the help so far...

the noise when turning would not be a s/c or engine issue. Now, the fact it gets worse/louder when hitting the throttle could be an engine issue.

how was the s/c oil level?

Oil was pretty low...needle bearings were shot and rotors were scratching the housing. Replaced, also rebuilt the snout and new coupler. That grinding/scratching noise on a hard right is now gone. Also cleaned the throttle body/IAC and now a slight miss I used to have is also gone. New belts, idlers, water pump, thermostat, PCV, and plastic intake elbow thingy as well. Runs great...but tranny is getting worse despite the new pressure control solenoid, always sumthin'...
