Help!..Blower Motor Controller!

Hey guys..I have a 1994 XR7 with blower problems...I have read all the threads about the blower resistor replacement...even ordered one, but when I went to replace it...where the resistor goes..now there is a "blower motor contoller"..what gives?...a later addition?...
