Electrical Gremlin
Anybody ever had any electrical problems on Dalotas?
Mainly being: something is draining the battery? If i leave my '99 R/T sitting for 2 days, the battery is DEAD. When it's running, it puts out the right volts; i've also had the alternator checked. There is a clicking/relay-sort-of noise behind the glove box when you open the door when the battery is below 12-volts. Any ideas what that relay may be, besides the computer control module? thanks wayne |

Re: Electrical Gremlin
Disconnect the battery ground and use a big test light or a volt meter. Put one on the cable and touch the other end to the battery terminal. Find the one with the underdash lights check it first after the lights shut the draw should drop to 1.2milli amps or below. Check each circuit and pull a fuse until the draw goes down. If you still don't find it disconnect the alternator. After this pull relays one at a time.
I usually pull the fuse for dash lights and use a test light if it lights you have a draw. Once you find the problem area remove bulbs or disconnect one at a time until you find it. Usually an interior light or relay sometimes an alternator or esp. external voltage regulator on older cars. |

Re: Electrical Gremlin
Battery is less than a year old; i replaced it first thinking that was the problem.
'Gonna get out here in a few and do the test-light thing a little more "in-depth". thanks |
