WIP - Ferrari F2000
I've just started this Tamiya F2000. Just 3 simple coats of Tamiya Bright Red and some polishing with Tamiya fine rubbing compound. I need to do the panel lines, clearcoat and re polish.
This is a friends kit. My next kit will be my own for a change! http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...rrariF2000.jpg Last edited by pirata12; 01-08-2007 at 03:55 PM. |

Re: WIP - Ferrari F2000
Thanks! I'm trying panel lines for the first time and I'm a bit nervous. What's the best way? There are many tiny grooves on the body that need darkening.

Re: WIP - Ferrari F2000
Hi Pirata12,
That sure is a nice paint job you have there .I always prefer it when images are displayed in the threads rather than linked but I guess it is your choice .I got a great reference book for Christmas called "Ferrari Formula 1 - Under the skin of the Championship-winning F1-2000" by Peter Wright. I can thoroughly recommend it whether you are planning to do lots of detail or not. Keep up the good work, Billy P |

In terms of the book, the list price is very, very expensive. However, I found an Amazon seller stocks and sells them for about 20GBP. Regards, Billy P |

Wow! I just checked that and it is 140GBP. Crickey! Somewhat more than the 20GBP I paid. I just checked Amazon.co.uk again, and a "Used - Acceptable" copy is being sold for 15.90GBP by Warehouse Deals UK. Regards, Billy P |

Re: WIP - Ferrari F2000
Hey Pirata, never realised you are in SA. Have you looked at getting books and things online through amazon.com or ebay?

Re: WIP - Ferrari F2000
Yeah, I'm right down here at the bottom of the planet! I buy more stuff online than locally as you suggest but the import and postage here often cost more than the product! And often our post office just loses the package!
The frustrating thing is that many modeling accesories don't even come to our shores. BMF, weathering pens and the like. All our shops stock is models, paint and glue...... |

Re: WIP - Ferrari F2000
![]() You can post the image into the message if you are using Photobucket. All you need to do is paste the link into the post and put at the finish.Put your link between the two and the image will show up in the post like I have done above with your link. You can even copy the image link straight from Photobucket and it does the above for you.Hope this helps you out.Nice paintjob by the way.You can use some enamel paint on the panel lines.Black might be a bit much.Try a slightly darker colour than the TS-49 it can look good on red.
