Help! Engine won't start..

I drive an 02' ex manual, that's about all I know about cars. I went to turn on my car this morning and the engine wouldn't turn over, which was reasonable since it is cold outside. I did like the car manual said and tried it again and again. Then came back a couple hours later and tried. When I let off the clutch and turned my key back to off all the needles on the display kept ticking and wouldn't shut off for a few more seconds. Before this my car was fine, so what could be wrong?

Re: Help! Engine won't start..

Battery, alternator, starter....I'd run a voltage test to see if there is juice. Can you turn your headlights on, are they at full power? Is the engine trying to turn over or is it just clicking when you turn the key (bad battery) also check the main ignition fuse, it's a fat green one in the engine bay fuse box on the top right edge if your standing near the passenger tire.

Re: Help! Engine won't start..

The headlights are on really dim, so it is probably the battery. I will try that. Thanks.
