check engine light

I have a swapped mr2. na to turbo. I have had the check engine light come on a couple mornings in a row now. I live in kansas, its about 25 degrees or so in the morning. The check engine light comes on after about 10 min of driving and will stay on till I get to work. I start the car up to go home and the light is off. It never comes back on any other time except in the mornings.... weird. Can anyone help me diagnose my problem.

I have had no problems with the car, mechanically wise and I take very good care of it.

If the light is coming on there is a problem with the PCM or PCM sensor.
First step would to be check for codes.
If you can get codes post back code no with year and engine.

Re: check engine light

Ok I stuck a paper clip in the te1 and E1. and nothing happened. Are you suppose to turn the car on acc or start it? I didn't want to turn it on unless I know for sure it wouldn't hurt anything. Sorry first time checking codes.

No problem. Always better to ask if you are not sure.
It should read out after key is turned to on position.
But make sure it is OBD1 If you are jumping it.
What year and check if OBD11 or OBD1?
If OBD11 you will need a sanner.
This link will help.
