94 Corsica/Car Locked Up

Mechanic had performed the intake manifold gasket set and thermostat and gasket with coolant flush and also replaced the radiator. $1,100 job... Then when job was done car developed shakes at idle and died. Then transmission would not go into reverse. Then car locked up and had to be towed. Is there any connection with engine repair and transmission problem?

Re: 94 Corsica/Car Locked Up

I would say yes to the first part as it sounds like a sensor or vacuum hose was left off or became loose. As to the transmission I would think it is possible, as a lot of work was done in the engine area, not out of the question cable was damaged, or something like that. Sounds way too suspicious. Hope others will chime in here, I am not an expert mechanic per say but have worked on all of my cars, and also had them worked on many times when I could not for various reasons. A lot of sloppy work out there, would suggest you get this guy to d/c his work. A lot of money spent here for sure.
