Air intake.. PVC pipe?

would PVC Piping be ok to make a WAI or not (I would do CAI, but I own an Automatic, and Live in wisconsin, so water and snow would kill me..)? I thought it was, then I read that the pipe would melt at under the hood temps, and someone else said to just use dryer hose, but I would think that would melt too, if not sooner then PVC pipe..

Re: Air intake.. PVC pipe?

true champ man, just hit up autozone and piece it together wwith the MAKE AN INTAKE section, but a reputable filter. i just dont trust autozone's special to suck air to my car.

i am thinknig about getting the pieces to swap in to make a CAI removable part so i can smack it on there when it's not so wet outside. just a thought tho

Re: Air intake.. PVC pipe?

Why not just buy a $30 one off ebay? Ebay intakes gotta be better then pvc and not to be a doosh or anything but if $30-$35 is too much for you, don't bother modding the car.

Re: Air intake.. PVC pipe?

Well....if your gonna just get a crappy intake...mind as well the ebay ones...they are better than anything you can get for the money...but if you gonna install crappy stuff, mind as well leave them stock, cuz the stock intake is probably better than PVC pipes...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

actually opening up the stock air box is good no matter what you use so if your looking for some kind of performance, even if u go cheap e-bay, its still gonna help you out. it may not fit perfectly or look the best, but it will sound better and do its job garanteed...
