reprogramming keyless entry remotes

I have a keyless entry remote that is for a ford BUT NOt MY Car. Does any one know if i can reprogram it for my explorer?

Unfortunately not all Ford remote will work. I think it's devided more by year than model. You'll have to try and see. remember that when you do so, if you don't program the original it will delete it.

Welcome to the forum!

The procedure for programming remotes should be in the owner's manual. Make sure you have all the remotes you want to program with you when you enter the programming mode, including ones that currently work. You will need to program them all.

What year is the vehicle? The process has been posted many times in these forums. A quick search of the forum should yield an answer if you don't find the procedure in the owner's manual.
