Springs Tip
So, I was at the mall with the wife yesterday and she was getting the battery changed in her watch. I'm standing there trying to figure out how the pressure tester works and I look across and see the spring pins that hold the straps onto watches!!! I ask the guy how much they are and he says $2.50 each, so I told him I was a modeller and wanted to see the springs to see if they were suitable for use on my bike exhausts or throttle linkages etc.. and he gave me a bagful of old used pins.
After trying for a while last night to get the spring out, which is not particularly easy by the way, I found the smallest, coolest looking scale spring I have ever seen, less than 1.0mm in diameter with nice tight coils. Now I know that but I am a bit too busy today to do anything about that, so, tonight I will break them all apart, he gave me about five different sizes, and take some pics with a ruler for scale so that you can see them. In the meantime if you are out shopping then stop by the small watch repair places and pick some up for your self!!!!!Lee

Re: Springs Tip
not a bike builder, but I would imagine they could carry over to the Automobile world, throttle return springs and the like...
