Re: please help with part number
I got the number from a website that remanufactures auto parts. The description matches exactly what my car is doing:
VEHICLE JERKS AND BACKFIRES AFFECTED MODELS: Engine code AHL, 1.6 L Simos FAULT: From cold to operating temperature the vehicle jerks and backfires into the induction manifold when driving off. CAUSE : Acceleration enrichment adjustment in the ECU too lean. SOLUTION: Fit the control unit with Part No. 3B0 907 557 D - data version D02 available. However, my car is a 2000 beetle 2.0L. Thank you guys so much for the help! Please keep me posted if you find anything else!! Thanks! |

Re: please help with part number
Your engine code is AEG, I suggest you hook a scan tool to your NBug and download the DTC's which I'm sure are stored in memory than match guessing your problem to a different car. It sounds like a MAF unit is going bad but don't take my word until you decypher the DTC's of their meaning.
