ok i have an 88 touring sedan. when i press the brake pedal the brake light come on and make about 15 dinging noises. i did some diagnostic work on it and came to the conclusion ti was the hydraulic pump. the pump does work if I tap or hit the font of the pump iteslf. the brake sensor is fine and the relay works also. my question is where the hell can i get a pump. the olds touring sedan isn't a very common car. i crossed refrenced some pumps but i don't know which one to use. if anyone has first hand experience on this vehicle's brake system and particular problem please help. i'm 99% sure it's the motor. is this thing rebuildable or is there some kind of kit i can buy to rebuild it?
my vehicle is an 1988 oldsmobile touring sedan with 135k on it please someone let me know. thanks Last edited by x-l-er-8; 01-06-2007 at 05:31 PM. |

Re: powermaster hydraulic brake problem..HELP!!
Try looking for parts from a regular Olds 98 as they ought to work just fine. You should be able to get the part number off your part and use that as referencing when finding a new one. Have you tried Ebay or http://www.gmpartsdirect.com ?
As far as being able to rebuild it, its probably possible but I doubt you'll be able to find a rebuild kit.
