2.5 Shoot Out.

So yesterday me and two of my roommates who also live in Texas road trip it back up here to mizzery. One of my roommates just traded his Jeep for a new IS250, black, tan interior, auto. My other roommate (Acura TSX) was in a hit and run, his car was damn near totalled, so he was riding with me and my other roommate going back and forth between the cars. Anyways, I digress.

After a few hours of driving, we stop for lunch, and the roommate who got the Lexus is bragging about it. Totally understandable, we all do it. Were talking about it, discussing the motor and everything, when, not understandably, he starts ripping on my car. Now, I've gotten to the point where I'm used to people dissing my car, its stopped bothering me. But he just wont stop. I mean, I've tried the disarming method (dude, you think your car is slow, you should try mine), everything, and he just wont stop. However, before I could say anything, my roommate with the Acura goes, "yeah, the Lexus is nice, I'll give ya that, but c'mon man, at the end of the day, Fortier (thats me) has a BMW and your just driving an upbadged Toyota." Ouch.

So anyways, the drive continues on quietly, but once we hit some seriously open roads, the radar detectors went to highway mode, and the cruise controls were set at about 100, give or take. After about thirty minutes of this, my roommate pulls up next to me, and starts giving the Lexus some gas, jumping it back and forth. So after a bit of time, I just give up, and call him on his cell phone, tell him to take it down to 55, I'll honk three times, and we'll go.

Once he gets next to me down to 55, I drop into third, honk three times, and we both punch it. I get a quick jump, putting his nose at my rear door, and hold him there up to 80. By 85 I've pulled so his nose is at my rear wheel. At 110, theres a few feet from his nose to my tail. It stays like this up to about 130ish, when he finally lets off. I let off as well, and my roommate with the Acura calls me, and says "well, looks like the big bad Lexus couldn't swing with the itty bitty BMW." I laugh, and my roommate appologizes for ripping on my car when we get back up to school. All in a days work.

Re: 2.5 Shoot Out.

Wonder how the IS250 stacks up against the 300? nice runs, it had to be fun showing his new lex up. Did you expect the result or were you as shocked as your roomy?

Re: 2.5 Shoot Out.

I thought it would be a tad bit closer, I was expecting to shut down nose to nose or something close to it.

Re: 2.5 Shoot Out.

Ja, das ist hawt ja!

Zee BMDaubleU ist dezigned to invade France...er, to conquer the Autobahn...to France.

BMW's, Audi's, Mercedes-Benz... those cars I think twice about dicking with on the highway, they're built to just cruise at highspeeds.

Unless it's a 318, a A4 or a C230... then I laugh at them as they try keep up with traffic.

Saddly, they're still faster than I am... stupid truck.

Re: 2.5 Shoot Out.

nice race. nice way to put him in his place after trying to rip on your car. i just hate it when people won't shut up about their car. i know better ususally, and say race me on the freeway. it sucks for most people as they have speed governors. the sentra is just a brick, but doesn't have one. so i ususlly say 1st to 125 wins.

doesn't the is250 also have those new weird looking exhausts? or is that just the 350?

Re: 2.5 Shoot Out.

Haha, poor Lexus IS. Toyota has completely forgotten how to make a sports car.

Just out of curiousity, how come your friend got the IS over the G35 or a 328i?

Oh Schnap! Haha...

Good Kill, Cassie. I would definitely take a BMW 3 series over a new Lexus (and maybe save some money too)...

Re: 2.5 Shoot Out.

That 08 Lex is sick, but it would take some getting used to looking at that exhaust set-up...
