Help with the FXX

Hi all,

Once again I need some help

I am planning on building a superdetailed version of the FXX test mule car. The plan is an all-carbon fiber body, no markings other then the test car markings, superdetailed engine, interior, removeable wheels, airjacks, etc.

I was trying to locate certain items and have not been able to do so at my favorite site (www.hiroboy.com).

I need:

1. SMS Enzo superdetail kit. SMS is out of stock, so is Hiroboy, the one on the ebay os over 200.00 USD - which I am not willing to pay.

2. Acu-Stion PE Enzo brake kit with working nuts and threadable pins.

3. Any reference photos or material on the FXX engine as oppose to the regular Enzo engine.

4. Any photos of the all-black carbon fiber car...either detailed or not.

5. Sakatsu Ferrari caps

If anyone can help me with locating these items, that would be great.

THANK YOU!!!

Re: Help with the FXX

1. This might be quite hard to get, they have some problems with producing the turned parts and I think you have to be lucky to find it for the normal price at the moment...

2. Try Mediamixhobby, great service and super fast & cheap shipping!

3. this is something for the others

4. Sadly there are no pics of the car which is apparently owned by Jean Todt

5. see 2. but the sakatsu parts are out of stock. Acu stion made a similiar set but they are really expensive...

6. Can't wait for the progress thread opcorn:

Re: Help with the FXX

Wow, You just made me realize that I have all of those parts from when I ordered them 2 years ago!!! All I have built is the Enzo's engine without the airbox, and I have about 9 packages of CF from SMS.

Hmmmmm, I really need to get an FXX.

To be honest, had I not used any of the SDS or the Sakatsu parts I would have sold them. But, the hubs are already modified, and I have used a bit of the SMS kit.

I don't want to be a jerk, but I do not forsee you getting all of those parts rounded up. I have been looking for the hubs for a long time and no-one else makes them.

I would definitely pay $200 for a SMS kit, I would even pay $400 for one. They are that incredible!!

Re: Help with the FXX

I think you wouldn't care that but may be a solution, not only for the FXX stuff but also forever: this solution take me over the 2006 approx 900usd for a lathe, 450 for a little mill, I believe 2-300 in materials, approx 400 to order to a service a huge PE set I designed and at least approx 150-200 usd in chemicals, supply and tools to do my PE stuff. From a couple of models I'm able to turn my (crappy, but I believe there's a chance for everyone) stuff, design and etch my plates, do my decals. I'm doing by myself a set for my current Murcielago: it would cost me actually approx 4-5 usd. I'll have it ready to mount 1 hour later than when I finished to design it.

You can do better! May be also faster

Re: Help with the FXX

Yes, KOJIs EYE is a great E-Bay seller!!!!

I ordered the caps from ebay...I am going to look through the Meidmix stuff..

I can still get an SMS kit from the bay for about 180-200.00 USD.

Sadly, I can not invest thousand of dollars into a lathe/mill set up...I wish I could

I was able to gather a number ofgood references on the Engine and Interior portions now...all I have to do is make up the CF patterns on the real car...I guess no one will know the difference....

Now if Robrex or anyone else (hint - MPWR or gionc) would like to make me one-off parts - I will pay generously ...P l e a s e?

Otherwise I will try to locate what I can, where I can - I have alreayd ordered 20 various CF sheets in various scale and weave from SMS...let the games begin.

Re: Help with the FXX

I think the SMS super-detail set is a little over-rated. I have one that I am using on my Tamiya Enzo. Aside from a very few turned parts that come in the set then everything else is basically available seperately. The photoetch and templated decals are still available as seperate items. Racingminiatures has the P/E, decals and the Sakatsu dampers. I recently acquired a lathe and was thinking about making a few parts, I am very new at it but I can try and make doubles if you like.
I received my FXX yesterday. I am working on getting a few pics together for myself, I'll see what I come up with.

Mike.
Edit: FXX was at Goodwood 2006, I found a few pics on Google. Here is a good one

Edit #2: Acustion have some FXX stuff listed on thier home page in the "whats new for January" page.

Actually I already announced that _I_ was doing J Todt's BCF FXX, so it has to match mine to be correct...;-)>

Slk320> I said just that I pick stuff, not that I'm skilled enought to do an half decent stuff I'm pretty sure MPWR or Rob are skilled more than needed

From your reply I realized that my post could be read in a wrong side, and that is becouse my poor english and maybe my enthusiasm for our hobby. I wannot boast those fu****ed bucks I fired, my motivation is just that I HATE those aftermarket shit than often manufacturer give us: 2-3 useful grills on 100+ unuseful pieces, all seem done with 1 only mold, 0 creativity job, and very expencive.
Despite my owned model and AM parts this would be just my crusate against the "business oriented" quality of those parts. I have to say that SMS is often an apart case, with creative and well eng. stuff. Oki next step is creation from 0 of the whole model: with the same tech they use, I'm not far as now. This mean obviously that I fully respect who buy and use AM stuff, I'm upset with producers not with people. If someone watch on Stevensky and me Scangi sheet will see the difference between a "marketing and business oriented" aftermarket stuff and something done with pure passion, may be with some mistakes (fixed) but that's the point.

Oki SLK320 not more dirty in your thread from me
