Question 2005 Aveo standard transmission and cooling system.

I went to jiffy lube yestarday to have my transmission fluid changed and was told it does not have a drain plug or fill plug. There is a small drain pan with ten bolts but no place to fill. Does anyone know where the fill plug is? If I can find it I will drain my self. It seems once again Chevy wants you to bring the car in so they can service it.

I have coupon from Chevy to drain my cooling system for $80.00. That sounds kind of steep but I would rather them do that job. My biggest fear is I don't trust them, I'm afraid they won't drain the entire system. Anyone have success with dealer service

Re: 2005 Aveo standard transmission and cooling system.

that dont sound right that they could not find the plug or fill. but you have to remember that just about anyone can work at a jiffy lube as they are not actually fixing cars but just changing fluids. if you want better service try an aamco or something like that where there are ASE certified mechanics and see if you can get them to compete with your dealer coupon. plus a big difference between manual trans and auto trans are that the plugs are in different places. i know the the auto is under the car on the trans but i am not sure about a manual as i have never changed a manual trans. fluids. sorry i cant help you more but one thing i wanna ask you is how many miles you have on your car? are you really due up for a tranny fluid change. its only an 05.
